Von dem Ausstellungsraum der Kölner Galerie wurde ein Modell im Maßstab 1:20 hergestellt. Eine in diesem Modell befindliche Videokamera zeichnete in langsamer Fahrt vor einer schwarzen Fläche die Bewegung schwebender Staubteilchen auf. Zu Beginn der Kamera-

fahrt sind der Rahmen des Modells und damit räumliche Koordinaten zu erkennen, bis sie langsam verschwinden. Eben noch im Bilderstrom mit den vertrauten Raumbezügen, nimmt der Betrachter in dem Standbild nur noch eine unwirkliche schwarze Tiefe mit schwebenden Teilchen wahr.

Den mit einem Soundteppich versehenen Film projizierte man in der Zeit der Ausstellung an die gleiche Wandposition im realen Galerieraum. Die winzigen Partikel wurden dadurch extrem vergrößert, was die Wirkung der Bilder in der Verbindung von Film, Modell im Film und Projektion im realen Raum in eine Art „vierte“ Dimension steigerte.

A model was made of the exhibition room at the Cologne gallery on a scale of 1:20. A video camera located in the model recorded the movement of drifting dust particles in front of a black surface. At the start of the camera pan, the frame of the model and the spatial coordinates can be seen. As the camera moves, they slowly disappear. In this flow of images seen while the familiar points of reference are there, the observer in the static frame becomes aware of nothing more than an unreal black depth with floating particles. During the exhibition, the film, which has a sound track of white noise, was projected onto the same position on the wall as in the real gallery space. The tiny particles were vastly enlarged, which intensified the effect of the images in connection with the film, the model in the film, and the projection in real space of a kind of “fourth” dimension.
